It is very important that, as emerging credit union leaders, we take a moment to reflect on why credit unions exist and how they've evolved over the years. We will learn statistics on Kentucky's credit unions, hear from a Board Director, and get an up-close and personal story of leadership development from a credit union CEO. DAY 2: March 11 | CU Financial BasicsTBD | Louisville, KY Every day, managers make decisions that affect the credit union’s financial performance. Industry financial expert, Tim Gardner, will help Emerging Leaders get a better understanding of why numbers matter. Tim will cover financial ratios, 5300 reports, CAMELS ratings and more. DAY 3: April 22 | Project PlanningLeague Office | Louisville, KY DAY 4: May 19 | Leadership PresenceLeague Office | Louisville, KY In this all-day workshop, presenter Justin Patton will challenge Emerging Leaders to disrupt patterns of behaviors holding them back, allow them to practice relevant concepts, and receive personalized feedback. Part One: Authentic LeadershipLeadership is not about you, but it starts with you! DAY 5: July 28 (Tentative) | Political AdvocacyKentucky State Capital | Frankfort, KY While the Kentucky Credit Union League delivers the credit union message to Frankfort and Washington D.C., the grassroots efforts of credit unions in the community are just as necessary. Educating lawmakers about the credit union difference and how the movement is helping their constituents is a critical part of our strategy of removing barriers. Credit union leaders should take every opportunity to reach out to legislators and actively advocate on behalf of the movement. On this day of the Emerging Leaders Program, participants will spend the day at the Kentucky State Capital hearing from legislative leadership and learning more about the legislative process. DAY 6: August 14 or 15 | Final Presentations & Program CompletionIn-Person Meeting | The Galt House | Louisville, KY At the League Annual Meeting & Convention, Leaders will reflect on their takeaways from their group projects and present their experiences in a general session.
